Our liveaboard trips typically range from 3 to 6 days. A 3-day/2-night trip is perfect for covering the famous Central and North Komodo dive sites (like Batu Bolong and Castle Rock). If you want to explore the more remote South Komodo (famous for Manta Alley) or take a slower pace, we highly recommend a 4 to 6-day itinerary.

Absolutely. While day trips are great if you are short on time, a liveaboard offers a vastly superior diving experience. You wake up directly over the dive sites, allowing you to be the first in the water before the day-trip boats arrive from town. You also get to experience spectacular sunset and night dives, maximize your dive time (up to 4 dives a day), and access remote areas of the park that day boats simply cannot reach.

Your liveaboard package includes comfortable cabin accommodation, all freshly prepared meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks), unlimited drinking water, tea, and coffee. It also includes 3 to 4 guided dives per day, tanks, weights, weight belts, and round-trip transfers from your hotel or the airport in Labuan Bajo.

Note: Komodo National Park entrance fees and full dive gear rental (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, fins, mask) are usually billed separately unless specifically stated in your package.

You do not strictly need an Advanced Open Water (AOW) certification, but it is highly recommended. Komodo is famous for its drift dives and deeper seamounts. Having your AOW allows you to dive to 30 meters and comfortably handle sites like Castle Rock and The Cauldron. If you only have your Open Water certification, you can still join us! We simply tailor the dive plan to your depth limit, or you can complete your AOW course onboard with our instructors.

Sightings of marine life are never 100% guaranteed in the wild, but Komodo is one of the best places on Earth for pelagic encounters. We dive at world-renowned cleaning stations like Manta Point (Karang Makassar) and Mawan, where reef mantas gather almost daily year-round. Reef sharks (White-tip, Black-tip, and occasionally Grey Reef Sharks) are also heavily populated around sites like Batu Bolong and Shotgun.

A daily dive trip is a full-day excursion departing from Labuan Bajo harbor in the morning and returning in the late afternoon. The trip typically includes 2 to 3 guided dives at different locations within the Central or North sections of Komodo National Park, separated by relaxing surface intervals on the boat.

Please note that hotel or airport pick-up is not included by default. However, we can arrange a private transfer separately upon request. All guests should meet at our DiveKomodo office at 6:45 AM. We depart for the harbour at 7:00 AM and normally return to Labuan Bajo between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

Yes! We provide a freshly cooked, satisfying lunch served buffet-style between dives. We also provide morning snacks, fresh fruit, and unlimited mineral water, tea, and coffee throughout the day. If you have any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, allergies), just let us know during booking and our chef will happily accommodate you.

Absolutely. Friends or family members who do not dive are more than welcome to join the day trip as snorkelers or simply to relax on the sundeck. Many of our dive sites, especially Manta Point, Sebayur, and Tatawa Besar, offer spectacular shallow reefs that are just as beautiful from the surface.

Yes, you can! Getting certified in Komodo is an incredible experience. The Open Water Diver course takes 3 to 4 days. You will start with dive theory and confined water (pool or shallow beach) skills training in Labuan Bajo. Then, you will head out into Komodo National Park for 4 open water dives to complete your certification.

If you want to try scuba diving but don't have the time to get fully certified, the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program is for you. It takes just one day. You will receive a safety briefing and basic skills lesson from an instructor, followed by 2 ocean dives in the park. You are directly supervised by a professional at all times, making it a safe, easy, and unforgettable way to see Komodo's reefs.

It is a common myth that Komodo is strictly for advanced divers. While the park does have areas with intense currents, there are also dozens of sheltered, calm bays (like Sebayur Kecil or Siaba Besar) with zero current, sandy bottoms, and crystal-clear water. Our instructors always conduct training dives in these highly protected, safe environments. You will only progress to mild drift dives once you are fully comfortable and certified.

Yes, doing your Advanced Open Water (AOW) course on a liveaboard is actually the best way to do it! The AOW course requires 5 adventure dives. During a liveaboard trip, you can easily complete your Deep Dive, Drift Dive, Night Dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and Fish Identification dives while exploring the park's best sites. There is no pool work or heavy exams—just diving and learning.

The easiest way to get to Labuan Bajo (Flores) is by taking a short domestic flight from Bali (Ngurah Rai International Airport - DPS) or Jakarta (CGK) straight to Komodo International Airport (LBJ). Several airlines operate daily direct flights taking around 1 hour from Bali.

Park entrance fees vary depending on whether you are an Indonesian citizen or an international visitor, as well as whether you visit on weekdays or weekends. Fees cover conservation, ranger services, and local tourism taxes. We can assist you with the latest breakdown and payment guidelines during your trip planning.

Yes! Most of our multi-day liveaboard trips include scheduled land excursions to islands like Rinca or Komodo Island where you can safely walk with professional park rangers to view the legendary Komodo dragons in their natural habitat.

Labuan Bajo enjoys a tropical climate year-round with warm air temperatures ranging between 28°C to 32°C (82°F–90°F). Water temperatures typically stay around 26°C to 29°C, though southern sites like Manta Alley can experience cooler upwellings (around 22°C–24°C), making a 3mm to 5mm wetsuit recommended.

Yes, beginner divers can safely dive in Komodo. The key to diving here is having experienced local guides who know the tides and topography. We carefully group divers by experience level. If you are newly certified, your group will be taken to protected sites with spectacular coral gardens, turtles, and macro life, avoiding the washing-machine currents that the advanced sites are known for.

Yes. Komodo is located where the Pacific Ocean drains into the Indian Ocean, creating massive tidal shifts and legendary currents. However, these currents are what bring the nutrients that fuel the incredible marine life. Our divemasters use lunar calendars and tide tables to calculate the perfect time to drop into a site—often aiming for "slack tide" when the water stops moving, or planning exciting but safe drift dives where you simply glide over the reef.

No, you don't have to! We provide full sets of high-quality, regularly serviced scuba gear (regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, masks, and fins) available for rent. However, if you prefer diving with your own personal computer, regulator, or mask and wetsuit for comfort and familiarity, we strongly encourage you to bring them along.
